Chugging Along...

Another progress picture of my rusted root top. I've been knitting on it for most of the day and have almost finished up the first skein of cotton fleece. God I love this yarn and the color and the fact that it's more yarn, so less joining, and less expensive. So here are more pics, one of the general size as it was a little bit ago, and a close up of the leaves again. I love those. This top had better turn out the right darned size too for once. I hate that everything I make is the wrong size, even when I do check. I'm craving lace in general today, I've been eyeing lots of shawl patterns online. Elann.com has 2 or 3 I'd like to buy one day and there is a gorgeous one called the Spring Things Shawl. And it's sooo beautiful in that green. I could also see it in a light blue, or white even. And only one ball of the yarn. Karabella something. Anyway, that's going on my to do list for someday. We don't really have much money for buying yarn and patterns these days. Which is ok because I stocked up when we got our tax return. So I don't really need to buy any more. I just don't have much lace weight yarn in my stash!!! I do have one skein I got from knitpicks in a light yellow that I plan on making a shawl with, but I'm not starting that (as much as I wanted to today) until I get some other things off the plate. Plus it's only 440 yards and it seems like for most shawls you need at least twice that and sometimes even three times that. So I'm stuck with 2 other random hanks of only 440 yards that I need to find projects for...dang it all.

I worked on my secret pal's scarf today (pats self on back). I got a few inches done which is good. I'm waiting on just one more thing to get here to add to the box for her. And then I have to get creative. I'm trying to think of extra non knitting related stuff to put in there and I'm having a tough time with it. Either way, I'm working on it! I really need to send it out but I can't till that other thing comes. And hopefully the scarf will be done by then and I can ship it out! Then on to planning the next shipment.

Chad has another interview tomorrow, and I'm really hoping that they offer him a job on the spot, but they might not. Either way, the fact that he got called back is good. We need this job soooo bad. So here's hoping.

Ok well that's pretty much it...

I know what you mean by craving lace. I've been looking at that great big pink shawl on knit picks website.

Actually, I've used one skien of palette from knit picks, which is about 231 yards, and was able to do a fairly long scarf. I used #5 needles, and it turned out rather nicely.
